Since I began practicing yoga in 2005, I have felt drawn to study this ancient practice where it all started - in India. I've always known that I would go when the time felt right, and well... the time is now :) I'm excited to announce that I will be traveling to the "Motherland" to deepen my practice, understanding, and teaching skills.
I will be leaving at the end of March for six weeks. I will be staying at an ashram (a spiritual hermitage) studying yoga each day. The daily schedule which starts with meditation at 5:30am includes asana (postures), meditation, philosophy lectures, and karma yoga (selfless service).
My intention is to not only understand the roots of the teachings I have dedicated my life to, but also to come back to Baton Rouge and share the teachings as they are taught in India. Upon my return to south Louisiana, I will be leading a series of five workshops at Reflection Yoga (opening on Perkins January 2014).
The workshops will focus on the five principles emphasized at the ashram:
These two-hour classes will be offered in May and June 2014.
Your donations will go towards traveling expenses, education and training costs. And in return I will offer hugs, Reiki, private yoga sessions and more :)
I offer my deepest gratitude in advance for considering submitting a donation for this journey.
Peace and blessings,
