Solar-Powered Systems for Haiyan Victims

Donation protected

We are a group of private individuals who are seeking the help of friends to raise funds to install solar-powered systems that serve as lighting system, charging (for mobile phone batteries) system, and water filter systems in Yolanda (international code name: Haiyan)-hit areas of the northern part of Iloilo (located in the island of Panay in the Visayas).

Yolanda, the strongest storm to make landfall in recorded history, has left the Philippines mourning the loss of thousands of lives and of damaged infrastructures.

The funds that we have already gathered from our friends have allowed us to empower four communities:
-a Fishing community in Olotayan Island in Capiz: A system can produce purified water at a rate of 1920 liters a day for the fishing village. It can also charge at least 100 cellphones and flashlights a day for the community.
- Taloto-an Island in Concepcion: a solar-powered lighting system and charging station to the community health station that also serves as birthing clinic
- an Evacuation Center in Estancia: a solar-powered lighting system and charging station
- community area in Carles: a solar-powered lighting system and charging station that allows up to 100 cellphones to be charged daily.

Our wish is to help more communities slowly get back on their feet by having these systems. We need your help to make this happen.
