A Van ForKenny's Independence!

Hi, my name is Chuck Platt. I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of my father-in-law and Dallas Cowboys BIGGEST #1 fan, Kenneth “Kenny” Calhoun. At the young age of 31, Kenny suffered a massive brain aneurysm in January of 1991 which left him paralyzed on the left side completely. It was a long road of recovery but by Gods Grace, Kenny still has the ability to drive with specific handicap equipment installed in his van. Kenny has had the same Ford minivan for 20 years and it is finally beyond repairable and will no longer run. It will cost about $45,000 to get him a new van that is equipped for his electric wheelchair and the paralyzed side of his body. The ability to drive himself places we all take for granted is his biggest independence. He has currently been stuck at home for about 2 months. He cannot even come see my children Collin, Lexi or Kayson’s ball games and they are his ONLY grandchildren. Every summer and holiday season, Kenny works 20 hours a week at Moody Gardens as a door greeter. He absolutely loves his intermittent work at Moody Gardens. If you’ve been, I’m sure you’ve seen him with his big Dallas Cowboy Smile at the entrance to the rainforest. Kenny lives on very limited funds from social security and can not afford to pay for a new van or a vehicle note. I’m asking from the bottom of my heart that if you can find it in your heart to help me raise the money to purchase my father-in-law a new van and GIVE KENNY HIS INDEPENDENCE back, my wife Misty , myself and Kenny would be FOREVER grateful, there is no amount too small, every cent is a blessing.
