Move Mountains for Roger

Donation protected
On May 6th Roger got sick with what we thought was a viral infection. Over the next week he would go to 3 different hospitals seeking treatment as we thought maybe he was dehydrated. They asked each hospital to give him IV fluids because he had lost 15 lbs in such a short time. One of the hospitals finally agreed and did give him IV fluids. He was released from the hospital as he said he did feel better. The following day he had what they originally thought might have been a panic attack. That night he continued to have episodes in his sleep where his heart rate and respiration’s increased and he would have periods of confusion. The following morning he went to Gadsden Regional ER where they admitted him for observation. They did CT scans ,EKG, MRI and MRI with contrast. Hooking him to an EEG tracking his brain activity also doing a spinal Tap. The only thing they were able to tell him was he was having seizures. He was admitted having maybe 2 or 3 which eventually lead up to having 10 to 12 in a 24 hr period. The Drs there felt it necessary to send him to UAB in hopes of a diagnosis. After 17 days in the hospital he is now in a Medically induced coma because they were unsuccessful on stopping the seizures with medication alone. He is receiving plasma exchange. The Doctors at UAB have performed many test along with MRI with contrast CT scans of his chest abdomen and pelvis and 2 spinal taps . They have sent the fluids to Mayo Clinic and the family is awaiting the results. This seems to be a slow process. If the Plasma exchange is unsuccessful they are going to do a brain biopsy on Monday. As many of you know Roger is a very hard worker, an amazing husband, a wonderful bonus dad, and a loyal friend. Roger is rarely sick and is always eager to help anyone in need. His family is eager to see him get well and enjoy life again. At this time bills are coming in along with the expenses of staying at UAB with him. How can you help? Please give your best to this precious family! Prayers are always welcome as well. To help me get the word out, you can share my link to your Facebook Timeline, and ask your friends to do the same. This family could use your help during this devastating and very unexpected time of their lives. May God bless each and every person in advance. #Movemountainsforroger
