It took several days to convince my Grandparents (Bob and Nita Enderson) to evacuate. They finally came up to stay with my husband and myself during the Hurricane. They brought our amazing Rottweiler, Diesel, with them that has been staying with them for the past 2 years. They left all of their belongings except for 2 personal bags of clothes, etc.

While Hurricane Florence was coming we were dealing with our beloved furbaby having major health problems and wasn't doing well. She was 13 years old and having them come up to Ohio was the best chance we had to all be with her in her time of passing. They got here Thursday night and Diesel passed away Friday afternoon. She was a big part of our lives and impacted us so much, it was a very hard time and still is.

My grandparents left on Saturday morning to head back to their home. They stopped and stayed overnight because they knew there was still road closures. One of my friends from school, Adelaide S., was kind enough to offer to go out and check on their house since her husband and herself live very close. They sent pictures that show several large sections of shingles were already missing from the house but we were still hopeful.

They finally got back to their home close to Harker’s Island in Beaufort Sunday and discovered that the ceiling had caved in from the water leaking. The insulation and dry wall is covering the living room and bedrooms. With no electricity, standing water, and the excessive humidity, there is already mold growing on the carpets, furniture and walls.

My Grandparents insurance will not cover all of the damage done to the home. Any donation will help to start rebuilding during this difficult process of dealing with the loss of Diesel and the Hurricane Damage.

We pray for everyone else who was effected by this.

All money raised will help with the below:
-          removing mold and damage
-          replacing furniture
-          rebuilding walls/ceilings
-          any other damages that need repaired
-          to get the home livable again
