It has been nearly eight years since I was first diagnosed with end-stage renal disease (kidney failure). This was a very unfortunate result of a greater chronic illness that I suffer from called Systemic Lupus Erythematosus or just Lupus for short. It has recently been discovered that my very own daughter, Leila Kanoa, is a match for organ donation. The operation will be done in San Francisco California hopefully sometime in the Spring of 2014. I need your help now more than ever! I need funds so that my husband Sidney may accompany and assist me through this difficult time. The transplant may require me to stay in San Francisco for up to 4 weeks or so. My medical insurance is only covering our medical expenses and me and my daughters plane fare. We must pay out of our pocket for my husbands airfare. Also, during this time, I must make provision for meals for my daughter and myself along with my husband. Also, we must compensate for my husbands lost wages while he is away from work and assisting me. Yes, the rent and utilities bills keep coming regardless of your health!
