Nina Okawachi Memorial Fund

Nina Okawachi was just 21 years young when she was struck by a car in a hit and run accident in Lexington Kentucky, on Friday, Oct 12th.

Nina was creative, beautiful and strong-willed with a tenacious personality. She was very close and many time inseparable with her older sister Izabelle, who is in the National Guard. Nina spent a lot of time with her boyfriend Ricky and her friends when she was not working. She always kept her friends and loved ones grounded when they were going through hard times. 

Nina’s mother Elizabeth has endured many tragedies in her life; losing her brother, her sister and now her daughter.

Unfortunately, the family is financially struggling to afford the ceremony and to retain Nina’s ashes. All we have left are photos and memories.

Nina’s death is a loss for the entire community. Nina was found by someone who graciously called the police. Nina was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital where she was treated for injuries, however, she was not able to pull through. 

Nina died without pain, but her family is struggling.  Anything you can spare is appreciated. Your help is appreciated.
