Help Chase Brincat Make It To Professional Golf: The Dakotas Tour
The Dakotas Tour is an 18 event professional golf tour over the course of a quick 9 weeks. It is played in the Midwest states of Minnesota, Iowa, North and South Dakota.
Starting the week after the 4th of July and ending the week after Labor Day.
I have been an athlete all my life.
My dad is who taught me to compete at the highest level.
My first memory is my dad pitching the plastic baseball to me and urging me to hit the ball into the neighbor’s yard……. which I did.
As most kids, I started with soccer and then my dad coached my baseball team. I then moved onto basketball and football. Each sport and every single team I was on advanced to the highest level every season. My dad played a huge role in the success and support of those teams as an assistant, raking the field, marking the field and his favorite job; the football “chain gang”. His huge smile and presence was always there. Not just to push us athletically, but at the same time teaching us humility, honor and character. I can count the number of games or practices he missed on one hand.
I had the blessings of fine coaches through all of my youth sports. My basketball coach, Bob Buckley, taught me the meaning of “Intensity”. It was a huge life lesson. Intensity means that when I step foot on the field of play, it is all business and NO playing around. Coach Bob pounded that message into us over and over.
Baseball
We made a run for the Texas State title and the heralded Little League World Series when I was 12. I was taught am even higher level of competition. My family breathed baseball that summer; the families of that team are still family to us. That was the summer my dad was diagnosed with cancer.

My Dad was an avid outdoorsman and he shared his love and passion of the outdoors with me. My best “dad memories” are fishing the bay at the coast, or hunting in “Simba”, Uncle Russell’s top drive truck. A weekend at the ranch was always the perfect time to hang out with Dad. He talked to me about so many different things. Around the campfire is where he taught me his unbelievable character and unyielding faith. He told me to always follow my dreams; “There will always be naysayers but, look at them as fuel to your fire”. My dad was my best friend.
I injured my shoulder at a game that spring. The doc said that I couldn’t play for nine months and possibly surgery after that time. I had to shut it down, I was devastated. That meant no baseball or even football in the fall. Since I really couldn’t play the sports that I typically played, one of my best friends, Michael, invited me to play golf at a local par 3 course. That was the first day I picked up a golf club and man did I love it. Not only did I enjoy it …….I was good.
My dad’s cancer returned that summer.
At the time of the news I wasn’t afraid because I believed nothing could take him down. He lost a bit of his famous luster due to the chemo. But through his fight he never gave up. His “intensity” was always there. That was another life lesson from him and therefore how I aspire live.
We lost dad in November
As a fourteen-year-old kid people were telling me “I was the man of the house now” and “I was to be strong for my mom”. This was a lot to take in at fourteen. Having to fill the shoes of my larger than life father seemed impossible. During this time God literally spoke to me and said, “Everything is going to be okay”. The next couple years were pretty rough on my mom and I, but she was incredibly strong. We both understood that life wasn’t just going to stop for us so we had to figure out how to cope with the situation. She kept our now small family afloat, giving me everything I ever needed.
During this time, I turned to my faith in Christ that had been instilled in me. I would go to the golf course by myself and just bang balls for hours on end. It was my second home and my release. Time went by and my shoulder finally healed and I dropped my other sports to concentrate on golf.
I just couldn’t imagine playing ball and looking up into the stands and not see my dad or hear his encouraging words after a poor at bat.
Golf, golf, golf…. that was my life and I couldn’t get enough of it. And that is when I realized “Everything is going to be okay”.
Golf is a gift from God
1 Peter 4:10 says “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms”. The Lord has placed on my heart to help others that have experienced such darkness and grief. I am a living example that there is still a joyful and fruitful life after the darkest of times. A round of golf is long and I am able to use that time to be a servant for the Kingdom of God and share my story of how God brought me back into the light.
If I am not able to take this chance now, I will regret it for the rest of my life.
Money is the only thing that is holding me back from launching my professional golf career in The Dakotas Tour. The money that I hope to raise is to cover travel, housing, and entry fees for this tour. I have found success on the amateur level and dream of continuing that success as a pro. Your donation is an investment in me and my skills as a pro golfer. I pray you will believe in my vision of what I can achieve. This is not just a pipe dream but something that I will excel in.
