Mikayla Hernandez surgery/housing fund

Mikayla is a energetic fun loving 15 year old who was Diagnosed with Scoliosis in 2011. Over the last couple years the pain and the curve to her spine is getting worse. While this is not a life threatening issue, if left untreated will leave her disabled by the age of 30. She is scheduled to leave Klamath Falls, Oregon and go in for surgery in San Francisco February 18th. She will have steel rods put in her back to straighten her spine. The minimum recovery time will be three weeks.

Mikayla's family will be traveling with her and they are estimating their costs while down there to be around $3500-4000. Michael, a crew chief for the US Air Force, will have most of his days off covered by leave/sick time but the income Mary brings in each month as a day care provider will be lost while they are away. Insurance will pay a majority of the expenses of the surgery, but they will still have their copay, and deductibles to pay out of pocket.

Any help you can give will help this wonderful family out. They are the type of people to never ask for help, but the first ones there to help out if you are in need.
