Please Help Yuma, a rescue dog.

I am heart broken to write that my rescued 10 yr old Belgium Terv Yuma was viciously attacked late Saturday night November 30th by two stray dogs that jumped my back fence, into my back yard. These dogs caused sever damage to Yuma's right rear leg that is now very infected. At the vet today his temperature was 104.9. Yuma has several wounds of various degrees of damage but the wound of main concern is on the inside of his leg and is very, very sever. Today he received antibiotics, pain meds, and we shaved the leg so we could asses all the wounds properly. Surgery is a possibility should we not be able to get the big open wound on the inside of his leg under control fast.
I have already spent close to $1000.00 on Yuma and I need help getting him the further care that will need to be on going for the next few weeks.
Yuma also lost his left top canine tooth in this attack. If my other dogs had not been outside with us and stepped in to protect my old boy I am sure Yuma would have been killed by these two dogs.
have contacted the Police and the vet has documented his injuries and I will be making a full police report this afternoon. The vet cannot take donations so you if you do not use pay pal you can also send it to me by an online money transfer to [email redacted]
You see the problem is Yuma is not adoptable. Yuma has been through so much in his 10 yrs of life and finally now with me, Yuma has found true love, a human that cares and loves him no matter what, I am patient with him and we have been working on trust, not only with myself but with other dogs. Yuma had been very depressed and upon coming into my care was very matted, his back legs were matted together and he could not walk properly. Sara at Party Paws was amazing with him and we were able to save a lot of his coat that I thought we were going to have to shave off. With Sara and her gentle ways though we were able to save most of his coat, but still had to shave off his entire underbelly, some big patches on both sides, his legs, and his whole back end and anal area.
Yuma sadly has also tested positive for Lyme disease as he had over 17 ticks on him. Yuma spent most of his life on chain and then went to a home with an elderly lady who loved him, who sadly passed away and after that he was left to get in a very neglected state. Due to his past Yuma has many issues however he has overcome many of them and is continuing to thrive here with me. Yuma and i are very bonded and he is my shadow dog.....Until This past Saturday night everything was going exceptionally well with Yuma. Now Yuma needs all of our help to overcome this horrible thing that has happened to him. Yuma is just not another one of my foster dogs, Yuma is one of MY dogs now and is apar of my family. My old boy needs our help, so pls if you can donate a dollar, $5, $10. Every single dollar truly helps in this situaion.
Thank you all so much for your consideration.
Yours in Rescue,
Vicky Haines
