I am running 5KM everyday in 2021 to raise money for two local charities who go above and beyond for the vulnerable and needy in Wolverhampton.
I hope I can raise awareness of the great work they do within the community whilst raising a little money that can go a long way.
I intend to donate 100% of all funds raised to both charities below.
The first charity is The Haven. Set up in 1973, the Haven Wolverhampton is a charitable organisation which provides both practical and emotional support services to women and children who are affected by domestic violence and homelessness. The Haven Wolverhampton is one of the largest refuge providers in the UK.
The second is P3. They provide advice and support on a wide range of issues, including: Housing and homelessness, accessing specialist services, dealing with debt, mental and physical health, education and employment, addiction issues, relationships and so much more.
I want to do my part for the community and help those who really need it. Wolverhampton has been hit hard by Covid-19 and the local community are stressed and hurting. I reached out to both Haven and P3 as they provide help and support on a wide range of issues.
I now intend to go one step further and hope the “5K Everyday Initiative” will raise more awareness and importantly more funding for critical community services that we often forget about or sometimes take for granted.
5KM x 365 days in a year is 1825KM. My goal would be to raise at least £1825
