As most of you know, my beautiful mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in March 2020. It was a shock to our family and completely flipped our lives upside down. Luckily, my mother caught the lump early and was in the doctor's office getting it checked out only days after finding it. The doctors worked hard to come up with a solution on how to attack the cancer and she began chemo treatments in April 2020. These treatments were every three weeks and ended in July 2020. At the end of chemo treatments we got the news that the lump had shrunk and could be removed in surgery.
After finishing chemo, began the next stage, reconstruction. The first round of surgeries took place on August 2020. If you know anything about reconstruction this surgery has you bedridden, unable to do basic things such as lifting every day items for 6-8 weeks. After surgery my mother had to take off work to recover. Since my mother could not work she was only getting paid about 60% of her normal pay. This put a huge financial burden on my family. With my father being the only one really providing for the family at the time, the medical and regular everyday bills started to come in and take over.
If you have ever met my mother she is the most unselfish person you will ever meet. She is a "give the shirt off her back" type person. She has supported my sister and I in everything we put our minds too. She is truly an angel walking among us and our family would be lost without her. Since her diagnoses in March 2020, the love and support we have felt is unbelievable. People have made meals, given gift cards, etc. Those were amazing gestures and we will forever be grateful for them.
I have had people approach me asking how else they can help my family and the answer is simple, help me give back to my family and provide for them like they have for me for so many years. Any amount given in this gofundme will go straight to my family and help them begin to pay off those medical bills they are facing at the moment. I cannot even begin to put into words the love and kindness I feel from everyone who has railed behind my family and continues to do so everyday.
