Help Tim rebuild his life!

Tim crashed his truck and we need help.

We are thankful not to have lost Tim, but he was the only source of income supporting a partner and three kids (15, 10 & 4yrs). We now have about $40K debt from starting up our business including the costs from the accident not covered by insurance.

Our family needs financial help.

Tim was determined to set up a haulage business and buy his own truck. The first truck we bought had a blown engine the dealership refused to fix. Thankfully, the finance broker stepped in and that sale is now in the hands of their lawyers.

The finance company eventually put Tim in a rental truck while we searched for another to purchase. Mid August Tim found a beautiful Kenworth K104 that fit the specs. After several years of driving for others, he was doing what he loved in his own rig. Tim was in debt but providing for us as an interstate driver with plans to secure our young family’s future.

Less than five weeks later, Tim’s dreams were crushed and our world was turned upside down.

Literally.

Tim rolled his truck around 2:00am on 24th September 2021 in country NSW near Tooraweenah. That beautiful rig was totalled. Tim was rushed to Dubbo Hospital by ambulance where he was diagnosed with a broken neck (C6 & C7), broken eye socket, significant brain damage, and major lacerations under his chin, neck and upper lip requiring immediate surgery.

Tim was flown to Sydney’s Westmead Hospital for surgery and, thanks to Covid, I could not be with him. Nor would authorities transfer him to Brisbane to be nearer his family. Westmead then discharged Tim with no wallet, no money, no ID, and no way of getting home. I was not allowed to drive to Sydney to collect him because of Covid-19 and he couldn’t fly due to his broken eye socket and neck. Luckily, I was able to organise him a lift back across the border with a fellow truckie and I’m so thankful.

Tim has a long road to recovery. Due to the brain injury, even his personality has changed, including his speech: my Aussie boy now sounds like a Kiwi! Tim still can’t see out of one eye and the damage to his mouth affects his speech and eating. Recovery will be a long haul with no set timeline for when or if he will be able to drive again.

Tim’s medical expenses are covered for six months post-accident and we receive a small amount per week for loss of wages but after six months all support stops and we will have no income to keep our family fed and housed and to pay those expenses I mentioned before. Tim needs full time care to shower him, dress him, cut up his food for him, get his drinks, and take him to all his medical appointments, so I can’t work.

Please help free Tim and our family from the debt leftover from our shattered dream so we can concentrate on getting Tim back on his feet.
