WHAT: 'Our Tree' is a new community-centric natural living business. Currently a closed buying group we are planning to expand into a retail premises & online shop in the Blue Mountains NSW, Australia. 'Our Tree' will be the communities first ever 'every day natural living' shop providing locals & tourists with affordable options (outside of large corporations) to consciously meet their daily consumable needs. 'Our Tree' is a hybrid business model based around the transition town concepts of communities helping each other to help themselves, bringing unique & localised businesses back into our waning town centers.
This new business will encompass elements of our environmental concern, our community involvement & our ability as conscious consumers to take ownership over & responsibility for how we earn & spend our money.
PRODUCTS: 'Our Tree' sells products that support a natural, simple life such as natural & educational children's toys, books & learning/ school supplies, ethically made basic homewares, organic everyday clothing & underwear, linens & bedding, ethically made footwear, non toxic cookware & healthy kitchen appliances. The business will compliment, not compete with, currently existing local giftwares & organic food businesses.
'Our Tree' will encompass the existing pre-order buying group to enhance our buying power & a retail outlet & online store.
LOCAL ARTISTS & COMMUNITY: An important element of 'Our Tree' is the support of creative locals. We sell locally made products with a substantially smaller markup enabling greater income to the artist. The business premises we are negotiating includes facilities & space to help artists create & bring their wares to a consumable point. The support of local artists in our alternative community is imperative to helping more people use their skills to create income in an area with minimal employment opportunities but an abundance of highly skilled artists.
REPAYMENT OF DONATIONS: 'One Tree' is working with our community to create choice & to prioritise the environment & quality of life over profit.
This is an exciting crowd funding model that will have donors given free membership to the pre-buying group & their donated funds returned to donors in the form of (further) discounts off their pre-orders.
UTILISING FUNDS: The funds we are raising are for the following. We would also welcome sponsorship/ donation of one or any of these items from anyone looking to support the creation of this business & are happy to talk further with interested parties.

- Signage $1000
- Insurance $1200
- Connection of utilities $500
- Website Development $3000
