Teaching in Nepal

Donation protected
After graduating this past May from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Early Childhood Education I decided to substitute teach at schools throughout Rhode Island. In October I traveled to Haiti where I spent some time working and playing with children at HIS Home for Children, an orphanage in Port-au-Prince. After my experience in Haiti I decided that I wanted to spend a longer period of time volunteering and working with children.

I researched organizations that bring people around the world to volunteer and discovered International Volunteer HQ. I applied for a program in Nepal for 10 weeks during March to May where I will be teaching English at a public school. They have accepted my application and now I am trying to raise money for the program fee and my flight. Any money I raise beyond those expenses will be used to buy school supplies and basic medical supplies for the community I'll be working in.

I am very, very excited. I am looking forward to experiencing a part of life that I haven't before, to being part of something bigger than myself, to exploring the world, broadening my perspectives about the world and my place in it, and helping people in that process.

Any donation large, or small, would be greatly appreciated! I look forward to posting pictures and sharing my experiences with you all when I return home. Thanks for checking out my page!
