We are raising money for our son James Fisher, age 6, who was diagnosed a month ago Nov 2nd, 2013 with DIPG, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. This is a cancerous tumor that embeds itself in the pons of the brain stem. Because the brainstem is the center of all essential functions for life, surgery is too risky and not an option. We are completely devastated that doctors have given us a prognosis of 1% survival rate past one year. He has been placed on an experimental drug trial along with daily radiation. We believe that cures are found because they begin with one person: James will be that one person. Most importantly we ask that you keep us in your prayers because God works miracles and we believe that James is a miracle boy: medicine can go so far, but we know that only God can heal him. But this devastating diagnosis has happened so quickly our daily lives have been completely turned upside down. Our lives are now focused on being the caregivers of a very sick child and this has limited our ability to maintain our finances. Any donations would help to continue to drive back and forth 80 miles to Texas Children's 5 days a week for radiation treatments, as well as help us pay doctor bills as well as those at home because at this time there is almost no money coming in and all money saved is going out. We have two other children (Alana) age 2, (Krista) age 4 months at home as well; balancing the attention they deserve with the attention James needs has been a struggle. So this is a BIG Thank You to anyone and everyone that makes a donation to help our family through this very hard time.
