ernie myers medical fund

my dad ernie has been suffering with an intestinal system that does not function which in turn has not allowed him to eat for over a year and a half. he has had to live on iv nutrition during this time. unfortunately, he has had many complications due to having these iv lines in for so long. he has been in and out of the hospital every couple months for anything from sepsis (which he's had 3 times since july) to complications/movement of his iv lines and recurrent bowel obstructions. he has many blockages as a result of the ivs which is now leading to difficulty finding sites to feed him through. he had surgery last august at cleveland clinic and again this past friday as well. last august he was there for 3 weeks and we are unsure how long he will be there this stay. the surgery he just had on friday was his last attempt at trying to get his intestines to work before having an intestinal transplant. his condition actually started over 12 yrs ago with recurrent bowel obstructions. but the last several years have really been the worst. i give my dad so much credit. i can't imagine what it's been like to not eat for as long as he has and enduring the pain he feels on a daily basis. he is a very strong man who keeps fighting no matter how sick he feels. it's his faith and love for christ that keeps him going. my parents have accumulated many medical bills from the numerous hospital stays and tests that he has had. my mom never leaves his side and stays with him in a hotel when he's receiving treatment in cleveland. that cost adds up quickly as well. this would all be a little easier to accept if the doctors were able to give us a cause for his condition but they can't identify the "why". we just have to rely on our faith and know that god has a plan. thank you to all who have supported my family and all who will support us in whatever is to come. thank you!
