I am making this fundraiser due to my husbands medical issues. I’m going to start from the beginning so everyone that is new to us can know the full story. Back in January Jeremy’s health started to get really bad. Over the months it got worse and he fought hard trying to quit drinking and had a lot of ups and downs. But he was at the finish line and I was so proud of him. He wasn’t a crazy drinker, he just likes to have a couple drinks after work but since it was a hard alcohol and it affected him much faster, and he had a lot of stomach issues including getting ulcers. In September he started to take a turn and had to go to our hospital in town a couple times for potassium and magnesium transfusions and given fluids as well. He wasn’t able to eat and when he did it affected him fast. In October is when things started to get even worse. He got so Sick due to a few different issues. He has cirrhosis of the liver and and he had two ulcers, one in his stomach and one at the end of his esophagus. He had developed an infection in his lungs at some point in the beginning of the month. Then at some point his ulcer in his throat started bleeding and his body had low hemoglobin so he was bleeding internally. Due to bleeeding internally the infection he had got into his blood stream causing him to go septic. He fought through and was able to go home after a 17 day stay. Within the week he started to bleed internally again and he was admitted to Essentia in Duluth again for a 2nd time. He fought it and got to go home after a few days. He was home for thanksgiving thank the lord. Then he ended up in the er due for dehydration and had a infection in his colon and unfortunately due to the lining of his colon bacteria got through it and got into his blood stream causing another blood infection. He fought through that and then his bladder was causing issues and we got that under control. We got released after a 8 day stay. Then 2 days after he was brought to the er due to having hallucinations and being severely dehydrated and malnourished due to not eating he got meds and fluids and we found out he had a UTI in his bladder. We went home and for the next could days he was getting worse with his hallucinations and being delirious, and his tongue was swollen and bleeding and I had a gut feeling to call the ambulance. They got him to the hospital on Thursday and we found out that he is VERY VERY sick. Due to low thiame it was affecting his brain along with having a UTI. He also was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia. We were told there’s a chance if he becomes alert and recovers he might not fully be better. They said there’s a chance he could recover from it. His liver and his kidneys are very angry. His stomach veins are leaking blood at times causing his Hemoglobin to drop so he had a blood transfusion today. His lungs are pretty wet still. He is on a ventilator giving his lungs time to heal. They are giving him 2 different meds to help keep his blood pressure as normal as they can. They have him on 3 different meds to keep him fully sedated. He has thinner blood so they were giving him albumin I believe to help with that. He’s very very sick. I had to answer questions no one ever wants to answer. They told me that there’s a little bit of hope he will recover from this all but it’s really really hard to tell right now. They warned me that this might not go how we want so right now we’re taking it hour by hour. If he gets through this they will be placing a Gtube as well so he can get proper nutrition.
We NEED a Christmas miracle.
We have been together for 16+ years
We have been married for 11 years
We have a 14 year old son who is the most amazing kid and the best big brother.
We have a daughter who is going to be 11 on the 31st of this month and she fought stage 4 cancer when she was 17 months old. She is currently a 8 year cancer survivor.
We have our other daughter who is 7 years old. She was born with her heart flipped and a lot of other complications, she had 3 open heart surgeries and may need a heart transplant in her future early adult years. Being in heart failure doesn’t stop her from doing anything. She’s as stable as she can be and we are very thankful for that.
The kids have taken this so hard and I wish I could take all their pain and worries away. They love their daddy so much and if we loose him this will crush them.
I can’t loose my soul mate and best friend.
He HAS to get through this.
I am asking for financial support ant this difficult time. I haven’t been able to work amd with Christmas we have a couple bills we need to pay and for medical bills. We owe over $1000 to Essentia. If you can’t help financially please pray your hearts out for our family. And for the medical team as they care for Jeremy.
I can’t thank Essentia Clinic and Pharmacy, Rainy Lake Medical Center and Essentia St Mary’s enough for caring for Jeremy and helping him the best you all could. I can’t thank you enough for all the emotional support we have received as well. You all are HEROS and incredible humans.
I can’t thank the Ambulance service and the cops for helping get Jeremy safely to the hospital. They were all so calm and made things go smooth and not scary. Having our kids have to watch that all unfold was very scary for them but they are some of the strongest kids I know.
Please if you can Donate blood, it is helping save lives. Jeremy has had a total of 8 blood transfusions since October. I can’t thank you all enough who are able to donate blood.
Much love to you all and thank you for all the support during this extremely hard time
