Surgery For Curly

Donation protected
We adopted curly a number of years ago when his “dad” had to move overseas for a while. He has been a major part of our family since. He provides emotional support to “mom” and a companion to “Dad” and his human siblings. He is a big fluffer nutter who will sit while you bury your face in his fur. He is a part of our family and we need to do what we can to give him a good quality of life, for the rest of his life. Curly has had a cough for about a month, the vet originally suspected allergies but when it got worse we had X-rays taken. He has a large mass on his lungs. We met with a surgeon to get a better diagnosis. She told us that he is a great candidate for surgery and when asked if she would do this given his age, she said with honest- “absolutely.” We can’t imagine that his time is up now. He isn’t ready and neither are we. He is healthy otherwise and still has a lot of life left to give to our family. His expenses for this surgery are $7,000 which would be a financial hit to us. We would be so grateful for any help that you would be willing to give. About Curly:Curly’s mom was a black standard poodle and his dad was a Doberman. He spent the first 7 wonderful years were spent with his first owner, Rick. He provided amazing care for Curly and was faced with an extremely hard decision of rehoming him while his life took a different path out of the US. I found curly online when searching for a pet for our family that wouldn’t aggravate our children’s allergies. I drove across the state to get him and brought him home the same day. He can be a real stinker sometimes! He hasn’t always liked other dogs, but as Rick says, he is like a human when with the family. Curly tends to be an emotional support dog for Kristian- when she is anxious he will wrap himself around her. That’s a Doberman trait. He is a great watch dog and protector. He is laid back with the kids and enjoys when they drop their food on the floor! He sits well for photos and tends to look majestic when he sits upright. He is patient when he gets groomed and even puts up with Kristian’s need to make him sometimes look like a lion. Everyone who loves dogs, loves Curly.About Us: We are a family of five, Csaba, Kristian, Zsolt (12), Georgiana (6) and Emerson (6). Csaba and Kristian work full time as a software developer and resource conservationist for the USDA. The whole family spends their free time volunteering to help refugees and families in need within the community. The kids all do very well in school and are avid readers. We would like to thank you in advance for any donation that you can give to help us with our pupper.
