Help a Remarkable Survivor Rebuild Her Life After a Decade of Medical Hardship

My dear friend, Cheryl Dearlove, once the most independent and resourceful woman I know, is now facing the most challenging time of her life. After years of fighting through immense medical setbacks with grace and grit, she now needs our help.

In 2016, she suffered a life-altering stroke that left her unable to use her left hand and with limited mobility in her left leg. Since then, her health challenges have only multiplied:

2018: Broke her ankle

2019: Underwent neck fusion surgery to stabilize a prior 2007 operation to remove/replace damaged bone in her neck

2020: Reconstructive tendon surgery on her right hand

2022: Surgery to remove lung cancer

February 2023: Right hip replacement

June 2023: Right knee replacement

February 2024: Broke left hand

March 2024: Left knee replacement

July–August 2024: Hospitalized with sepsis and pneumonia, which required blood transfusions, and nearly lost her life

Now at age 60, she is physically fragile but fortunately mentally sharp. She lives on a fixed disability income and had been supported financially by her devoted father — until his unexpected passing on May 20, 2025. With his loss, her emotional and financial safety net has collapsed.

She has spent the past decade surviving — now it’s time for her to feel supported.

Your donation will help cover:

Medical bills and co-pays

Basic living expenses (utilities, groceries, transportation)

Transportation to appointments

Credit card bills

Medical procedures not covered by insurance

Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring light and stability to a woman who has endured so much. She has always shown strength, but now she needs compassion. Please help however you can — and please share this with others who might be moved by her story.

Thank you for your kindness and support.
