Kurt's Cancer Crusade

My name is Kurt Stanley. I have been happily married to Gwenaelle for 16 years and we are the proud parents of Tristan, our seven-year-old son. Last January, we had to face the news that so many families hope they never have to hear. I was diagnosed with a rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia with scarring of my bone marrow.  Nothing can describe the fear of facing the possibility of you and your loved ones losing everything to cancer. I feel incredibly blessed to have Gwen and Tristan by my side, and continuously blessed with a perfect donor match and successful transplant. However, these blessings and victories are usually followed by enormous medical costs. My wife is currently seeking full-time employment in the field of special education while we squeak by on my single teacher’s salary.  I would never wish anyone to bear the cost of my disease, but my family could really use monetary assistance to keep our heads above water.  We are at a point where we must choose between keeping our house, our utilities, and paying these medical expenses.
