Project-based learning (click on link for video) is key to today's students' achievement. Students learn better when they are actively involved in learning. Hands-on projects reach all academic levels of students. Student can use items found around their house and edit and revise their projects and lastly present their findings.
The session at the convention will teach how to incorporate the Next Generation Science Standards to new and seasoned science teachers using project-based learning. Teachers will be making bottle rockets, just as they would teach their students this unit. Participants will leave the session with a their own bottle rocket, plans to make their own launcher, multiple hand outs for teacher and student, implementation of the multi-day lesson schedule and ideas for other projects.
Please help support this venture.
