Care for Carole - Breast Cancer Fund

Carole, a Breast Cancer survivor for the past 26 years, has just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer again. She's facing surgery, at the age of 74. Aside from being medically and emotionally taxing, it's also an unexpected financial burden in what should be her golden years of retirement.

I first met Carole 20 years ago, after hearing about this dynamic woman who was running a gymnastics program for children with special needs. As the mother of a developmentally disabled child, I was incredibly inspired by the love and energy Carole threw into this program. She had been running various programs for years, donating her time and energy for these kids. My daughter was able to participate in the NJ Special Olympics, and even travel with Carole to Connecticut for the Special Olympics World Games. These were priceless experiences for, not only my daughter, but many other lives that Carole also touched. I know she also ran a Special Olympics weight lifting program and a tumbling program for young children with Downs Syndrome. There were even more programs that she was involved in, but due to Carole's humbleness, I only learn of them through the special needs community. Even still today, Carole can't walk into an event for the special needs and not have "kids" running up to hug and say hello.

So why am I asking for your help? After having given so much of her time and energy to others, it's Carole's turn. In order to get the best treatment, Carole needs some financial support. The goal is to fund her medical insurance, since Medicare alone will not allow her to get the care she needs. Your donation is a chance to help someone who spent her life giving to others.
