Mary and I have been friends since 1988. Mary has a brother named Bill who has autism. In 2023 Bill was diagnosed with stage four metastatic prostate cancer. Mary moved Bill in with her and is his primary caregiver.
In 2019 Mary was seriously injured in a car accident that caused a spinal injury. This forced her to be out of work with no income. Once she was finally able to get financial assistance it was too late for her credit, which was ruined. Mary has always been a hard worker and would love to go back to work but unfortunately because of her injuries and the restrictions she is under with disability she is not allowed to work even though there are things she could still be doing.
Both she and Bill use wheelchairs. Mary could really use a wheelchair van but cannot afford that at this time. She currently is driving a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder where she has a rack on the back to load and unload one wheelchair. Last year she had to take out a loan to pay $3,775 for a new transmission and now just learned she has to pay $1900 for a new exhaust system, including Cadillac converter and some other various miscellaneous repairs just to keep something on the road for both her and her brother's many appointments. Trading in the vehicle is not an option as she still owes two years on it. Her only choice is to get it fixed, which has made for an additional financial hardship.
Any assistance you could give Mary and Bill at this time would really help alleviate Mary's financial stress as well as the insecurity of her brother's future. This money comes directly to me which will go directly to them.
Thank you so much.
