3 peaks challenge

I am going to be completing The 3 Peaks Challenge on the 16 May 2020 in memory of my dad who passed away 2 years ago with LUPUS disease, the disease went undetected for a number of years with my dad and It's an incurable immune system illness and is mainly suffered by females. Due to this he wasn’t tested for the illness and as it mimics so many other ailments by the time it was diagnosed, it was too late to medicate and my dad passed away just a year later.

I am therefore completing this challenge not just in memory of my beloved dad but also to help raise awareness of what the illness is and how it can be detected.

The challenge is 23 miles in three stages which will be completed within 12 hours.

World LUPUS day is on the 10 May and here is what the  charity do.

LUPUS UK also produces an informative national magazine with lupus articles, letters, reports, and photographs, and operates a strong Grant Programme for research purposes and welfare.

Lupus is not a very well-known disease and when my dad was diagnosed I had never heard of it before and was unsure of what it was or even how it would affect my dad, if it wasn’t for LUPUS UK I would not have had any idea how this illness would progress or how it would have impacted my dad’s and our families lives.

 

I want to raise awareness of it and raise as much money for the charity as I possibly can, whilst I am doing this challenge so if anyone would like to donate then please do so
