Aguilar Family Typhoon Relief Fund
Donation protected
Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) recently devastated my wife Michelle's hometown of Tanauan, Leyte in the Philippines. Michelle's family was hit hard -- and now around 50 of her relatives (including many children) are homeless, living in temporary shelters and relying on relief goods for their everyday meals. Just about all earthly possessions were lost. Most escaped with only the clothes on their backs. Homes need to be rebuilt; safer, more suitable shelter must be found; and even the most basic of necessities such as clothes, shoes, and other items for everyday living that most of us take for granted need to be replaced.
The picture below is what's left of the family home Michelle grew up in. Relatives, including some who unfortunately did not survive the storm, lived in houses all around this area.
I know there are many great charities out there doing tremendous work for the victims of Yolanda, but if you'd like to directly help out a family that has lost just about everything, I encourage you to make a donation here for my in-laws, the Aguilars. All contributions will go directly to those who need it, and we can let you know (with photos) just how your generosity is helping to provide some measure of comfort in a chaotic time, and how it is helping to rebuild lives in the wake of one of the nation's worst natural disasters.
I know many of us joke about our in-laws, but mine really are a fantastic group of funny, life-loving, warm-hearted people. Please help Michelle and I put them back on the road to recovery, so they can start to make new happy memories. Thank you and God bless you.
