Betsy Hicks Milwaukee Trip

Hi friends.  I am starting a go fund me account for my baby sister Betsy.  Betsy has been ill for 27 years.  She was diagnosed with  cyclic vomiting syndrome at 19.  Until the past year, her episodes have been somewhat controllable.  We are not sure why, but this year has been tough.  She has been unable to work for past three months.  CVS is an unexplained disorder of adults and children.  Betsy was diagnosed at the University of Tennessee by a well know gastroenterologist, Thomas Able, MD, 17 years ago.  The condition is characterized by recurrent, prolonged attacks of severe nausea, vomiting and prostration with no apparent cause. In some there is severe abdominal pain. Vomiting occurs at frequent intervals for hours or days.  Betsy’s episodes can last as long as ten days.  The episodes tend to be similar to each other in symptoms and duration.  The episodes are very literally crippling as her only relief is a tub of scalding water, which is common in CVS patients, which has also caused severe skin breakdown and ulceration.  We have been to the University of Michigan and are currently treating there.  We have found a doctor in Milwakee, Wisconsin who is very knowledgeable about CVS.  She is the leading expert in adult cyclic vomiting.  We have an appointment on October 29, 2018.  We are heading to Milwaukee praying for a miracle.  Our problem is funding the trip to Milwaukee. We are unsure how long she’ll need to be there and what their protocol is.    We are also trying to step in here where she has been unable to.  Anything you can do to help is appreciated. Obviously, prayer is the most important.  Psalm 30:2-3. LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.
