My name is Dian Murray. I am the mother of Virginia Delaire. Virginia is a 26 year old single parent with 4 children. Our story starts a year and a half ago when Virginias youngest child was diagnosed with Lukemia. He is currently in his last year and a half of treatment and doing well. Virginia started feeling sick about 6 months after Curtis became ill. She went to the Drs with stomach issues and we discovered that she had a large tumor on her adrenal gland. Surgery was scheduled and the tumor was removed in November of 2012. A few days before Christmas we were told that she also had cancer. Virginia underwent 6 weeks of radiation treatment and was placed on medications for adrenal cancer. Virginia continued to feel sick and after much complaining she was given another CT scan in September of this year. It was during this scan that we found out that Virginia has 6 tumors in her stomach and 2 large ones on her Liver. October 25th the Drs informed us that she was terminal. The only option Virginia was given was to be flooded with Chemo. It was made clear to us that this was not curable and that the Chemo might prolong her life but that she would be very sick.
Virginia made the decision not to have the Chemo because she knew her children would be scared of her and because she wanted to be with them as much as possible. The closest place she could do this is 3 hours away so that would also impact her ability to see the children. At that point we came home and broke the news to our family. Virginia has chosen not to let her children know that she is terminal until she has to.
We are trying to get Virginia to the Gerson Institute in Mexico for treatment. It is an alternative approach with the focus being more natural and holistic than Chemo. The cost for this is around 25 thousand U.S. dollars. The Gerson institute has indicated that clients need to be accompanied as this person will be helping Virginia through the process and would be trained in her dietary needs etc. The companion is included in the price.
We are holding bake sales, silent auctions and a dance to try to raise enough funds to send her.
As a mother there is a part of me that feels almost panicked due to the time this is taking. We were told by the Dr that Virginia has 2 months to at most a year left.

My baby is so young and has so much she needs to do yet in her life . This is a struggle for all of us and we would appreciate any help or encouragement that can be offered.
