Kidney for Big Stanley

Donation protected

I'm starting this campaign for a good friend of mine, Dora Hawes and her family.  Here is their story from Big Stanley:
First, I want everybody to understand that I am not asking for help for myself. I have a 23 year old son with cerebral palsy who has depend on me since birth in help to raise, direct and lead down the path to his own personal independence in life. It has already been a very exhaustive life to assist him with the bulk of his needs. My wife, myself, and with the kindness of some family members, we have been able to manage, and he’s been provided a stable environment to thrive. Throughout his life, he’s been face with a number of life threatening situations, many corrective surgeries, constant therapies, doctor and clinic visits, learning disability issues, and other situation that take a lot of time energy and devotion as a father. Not bragging, but I have never wavered nor given up on him. I’ve also sacrificed my time and efforts in helping my community and assisting those in need not thinking that one day I would need help from others, but that day has come. You never know whose path you have to cross in life. My family is still in need of me to be as healthy as I can be to contribute to our well-being. So here is my situation:
Name: Stanley Hawes, Sr.
DOB: 6-14-58
Place: Augusta, GA
Diagnosis: Renal Failure (Kidney Failure)
My name is Stanley Hawes and I am a patient at Georgia Regents University Hospital Kidney Transplant Department. I have been undergoing treatment from GRU since Nov. 2014. There has been some deficiency in my blood and also blood spilling into my kidneys. Since then my condition has progressed into a stage 4-5 kidney failure. Also, I have undergone treatment from a heart specialist, as we are trying to manage the failing condition of my heart (which has been affected by the lack of my kidneys functioning properly. My blood pressure, heart rate and purification system in my body is out of order creating the problems in which I am experiencing now.
Upon consultation with my physicians and the staff at GRU, It have been found upon constant testing and evaluation that I am an acceptable candidate for a transplant. In order to be accepted as a recipient there must first be a few things put in place.
#! There must be a certain amount of money accumulated before I am placed on the final waiting list. This will ensure that my expenses will be paid and that I will have myself situated to take care of the cost of my medicine.  This must be accomplished before the transplant actually takes place. I have insurance which will take care of the initial medical cost, but I must admit that I am not able to handle the cost right now that will be my responsibility. Transplants are very costly. Medical treatment so far has already been costly and not being able to work and have access to funds will be almost impossible at this time. A second chance at life is something that most of us would ever think would be a situation that we would be faced with until that time comes. This is the position that I’ve found myself in now, which lead me to bury my pride and ask for help from those who may be willing to assist me financially and help provide a happy ending to my story. So by the grace of God and the kindness of your heart, I’m asking for your help.
With humble thanks,
Stanley Hawes, Sr.
