Help Smokie Get An Operation

Dear friends, family, and cat lovers..... This is Smokie.....He is a beautiful indoor/outdoor cat that has adopted me. I say this because 3 years ago when I moved to my current residence and to manage the property... Smokie was already living here and started showing up at my door. Over the last 3 years he has showed me how to care for him, be kind to animals, and teach me what unconditional means. He is a blessing to all that live in this apartment complex.
Yesterday... I went outside to discover blood all over my patio. I search for Smokie and found him curled up in a corner of a stair case. I fetched a neighbor and we took him to Blue Cross animal hospital here in Long Beach.
He has an extruding tumor below his stomach.
Right now he is on antibiotics. Still at the hospital. We just had X-rays done.
The doctor said there are no other tumors in his body... so if we have it removed he will be ok.
So far we have spent $400 on finding out whats wrong with him and x-rays, but the operation and after care that is needed for him is beyond my financial means.
I dont want to let an otherwise healthy cat go.... especially Smokie who has brought so much to this apartment community.
I love the lil guy...and I need help saving him.

!!!!! Quick update ~ Sunday November 24 !!!!


Smokie came home from the hospital for a couple days before his operation this week. He is on antibiotics for infections.
The DR. could not operate until his infection around his tumor cleared up a bit. He will return this week.
The rest of his xrays are clear.
His blood test are clear and he is also disease free.
He has started eating twice the amount of food that he has been.
So his appetite is back.



Thank you for all the support so far. I cannot believe how quickly the word got out and people willing to help.
