Hi my name is Shola Babajide and I'm trying to raise funds for an important cause.

In the country of Nigeria in West Africa, there is a high mortality rate for pregnant women. This is predominantly due to lack of health care facilities, which also includes lack of relevant equipment used in standard/ Emergency procedures.

There is a high level of poverty in Nigeria, and millions of people cannot afford to attend a government hospital or maternity health centre.

My father comes from a small town in Ondo State (Okeigbo), which I visit every year.

In Okeigbo, there is a small maternity centre which was built in the 1960:s and hardly has any equipment. The whole building has become derelict. Most pregnant women have to travel to the neighbouring town to receive emergency treatment putting their lives and their unborn child at risk.

I want to renovate the maternity clinic with standard equipment for the birthing mothers in Okeigbo, so that they will have easy access on their doorstep to safe maternity care during their pregnancy, during the delivery and post natal care.
