Hi! My name is Lisa Rumans and I am here to introduce my son Dusty Rumans! Dusty is 17yrs old and a Senior at Swansboro High School in North Carolina. He has been acting since 6th grade and decided to try singing when he started High School. We discovered that he is vocally gifted and he has made amazing progress these past 4 years. Over the summer he auditioned for the Honors Performance Series and much to our delight he was selected as a finalist to sing in the National Honors Choir at Carnegie Hall in February 2014. www.honorsperformance.org
Dusty just finished performing with Carteret Community Theater in their production of Broadway at it's Best III, directed by Katie Dixon. He also was Assistant Director in The Pig-Lett's: A New Children's Musical, written and Directed by Mr. Charles Coakley Jr. who is also Dusty's vocal coach and Mentor. At the moment Dusty is directing a scene in his school's Christmas production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe as part of his Senior Project.
Dusty's father is a retired Marine of 22yrs and he now works in Civil Service aboard Camp Lejeune. I am currently a stay at home mom.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Dusty to participate in this prestigious concert series and may lead to additional educational benefits.
Though we are seeking contributions from friends and family members it is a lot to ask for during this time of the year. We are responsible for the fee, airfare and meal expenses and I will also be chaperoning him as well.
