Caleb’s Surgery Travel Expenses

Caleb L. Criddle was born in 2014 with a condition called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenital or AMC. It’s a rare condition where muscles do not form in utero causing joint contractures. Caleb is affected from his shoulders to fingertips and hips to his toes. There is no cure, however quality of life can be improved through surgeries & therapy.Caleb has been seeing AMC specialists at the Shriners children’s hospital in Philadelphia for the last two years while awaiting his first of two major surgeries. People travel from all over the world to see his doctors because they are simply the best at treating children with AMC! Caleb will be in good hands!!Our appointment has just recently been confirmed after two years of waiting, and we’ve been given a surgery date for late August.The surgery preparation will require 4 weeks of casting twice a week to be completed at Shriners hospital, prior to the actual surgery. In a short explanation, the surgery will involve cutting both leg bones at the hip and rotating them forward (because his hips are currently splayed)with the goal of Caleb walking someday after all major surgeries are completed!Including surgery & recovery we will be staying in Philadelphia for a total of 5 weeks as a family. Because of Caleb’s casting, both pre & post surgery, we will not be able to fly. So, some long family road trips are in our future & because we are going as a family, free housing will not be available to us.We are also fundraising for a pediatric manual wheelchair for Caleb to use post surgery since he won’t be able to scoot any longer.The surgery itself is covered through Shriners but travel expenses & chair are up to us!We are SO grateful for your prayers and support and would love for you to consider being a part of our journey through prayer & finances!!
