Jaxton Strong

Hello everyone, Jaxton Wheeler is a year and half old. He was recently diagnosed with multiple heart defects. Initially, they did not think they would be able to repair his heart, mainly due to the extent of the cardiac damage coupled with the lung damage. As you can imagine, Jaxton’s parents have both taken significant time off of work to be with Jaxton. The surgeons at Children’s Hospital originally went in to place a band on his artery to help improve his lung pressure that was irreversible. This was the best option at the time. Open heart surgery was performed on Jaxton on April 6, 2018.Once the surgeons went in, the situation with Jaxton became much more optimistic and more options were now on the table for Little Jaxton. Yay, happy tears! Jaxton’s parents, John and Paula, made the choice to go with the surgery that was once taken off the table, but was now available with the discovery from the surgeon. This surgery is the most risky but it is the operation that could give Jaxton a normal life. This type of major open heart surgery leads to a long road of recovery. Jaxton will likely be in the hospital for quite some time and both of his parents have taken time off work to be by his side night and day. They will still have bills to pay at home, as well as mounting hospital bills that will incur from this type of operation.
