Sex and Rage: Social Change through Sex Education

A celebratory call to sexy action!
Sex and Rage! is a new project working to create social change through sex education led by real sex educators, sex workers and activists. We are building a community that provides education on issues ranging from body positivity, intimacy and healing to justice reforms and self-defence from sexual assault. We are working to reduce stigma and shame around sex, give space for people to explore their desires and sexual autonomy in a safe and non-judgemental community, and address important issues such as sexual assault and harassment.
While the event is a space to explore sexual autonomy and desire, we will also be holding panels on consent, harrassment and reforming the justice system, and self-defence for sexual assault. This is a much needed event that will not only celebrate individual sexuality, giving space to learn about autonomous desire, but will also examine the correlations between shame and sexual violence, and the urgency of addressing the safety of womxn, sexual and ethnic minorities.
We are planning on launching Sex and Rage! In the first week of December as we are taking over a building that has been donated to us, but it needs some structural work. We have some incredible facilitators who are experts in the fields of the following:
Kinky Wrestling
Stripping- Seducing the Self
Bondage
Gendered touch
Sensory domination
Self Defence against sexual assault
Consent culture
Justice Reforms against sexual offences
Making this event accessible and affordable to all is really important to us. We are asking for your help to make this much needed event a reality. In order for the festival to commence, we need to secure funding to:
+ Pay the workshop facilitators for their fee, travel and accommodation
+ Ensuring the space is accessible as possible
+ Subsidising ticket costs for those who cannot afford it
+ Hiring equipment and furniture
+ Minor refurbishment
+ Cost of Labour
+Marketing and publicity
