It’s Time to Help Sherry and Girls

Donation protected
Today I am asking friends and family, if you feel compelled to help in any way, thoughts/prayers, monetary great or small, we are all joining to raise up my sister Sherry Harrison and her beautiful daughters Melody and Miranda Harrison to show our immense support during their struggles in recent years that have continued to stack.
**
I’m sure most of you are not fully aware of the severity of her disease because all the while Sherry remains a consistent, graceful fighter and is a beautiful soul who never plays the victim and she and her daughters have been through so much together and they are devoted to supporting one another. So I am starting this “love” page on their behalf in hopes of being able to give them the boost they desperately need but would never hint to ask for. Any contribution would lessen some of their worries. Perhaps replace the car and provide time to heal as Sherry decides the best next steps for her health and future career, etc. I will detail some of her story below.
**
My beautiful sister...where do I begin?
**
2000 - Breast cancer, reconstruction, etc. **

2000 - Adopted twin girls 19 months later. **

2003-2004 - Left an abusive marriage. Struggling single mom. Extremely hard work ethic. **

2010 - Health began to fail. Explosive first occurrence of Rheumatoid Arthritis affecting every joint. Crawling. Now controlled by strong medication. **

2012-2017- Began having extreme fainting spells and extreme exhaustion with very minimal exertion. After improper diagnosis of vasovagal syncope and finally several years and specialists and tests later discovered that Sarcoidosis in the lungs took a toll on her heart causing severe pulmonary hypertension. She continues to work with a minimal schedule although she is an unquestionable candidate for disability. Again, work ethic. Having to take more medication to help the symptoms...to function. ** Low immune system. Catches colds/illnesses easily. Works with the public as a hairstylist/makeup artist. Around chemicals all day. Never give up attitude. Doesn't ask for help easily. Tries to be a positive roll model to her daughters!! She is self-sacrificing and puts their needs before hers. **

2017 - Severe Pulmonary Hypertension was diagnosed after an Echo Cardiogram and Heart Cath Procedure. The pressure at her heart was 100. Normal range is 30-40. Was told that she could be considered for a heart and lung transplant. She started with medications first from special pharmacies to bring down the pressure. Her next Heart Cath Procedure is in May 2018 to recheck to see if these meds are helping. Sherry has good health insurance through BCBS HMO at a decent price (thanks to Obamacare). This all really takes a toll on her not only physically, but mentally as well. She tries not to dwell on the negative and lean on her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gives her peace. **

2018 - Sherry and Miranda were recently in an accident that totaled their car. They were lucky to be able to get out right after it explosively caught fire. She hit a black cow standing in the middle of a dark road early one morning at 40MPH. She sustained a spinal compression fracture and needs an injection that will allow it to heal better over time. Her client book torched in the back seat. Her clients love her but only so much time she can take off to get the rest and healing she needs because her clients could move on. She only carried liability on her 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee which was completely destroyed. The car was soon to be gifted as the first car for her girls. CT scan from this accident showed a sclerotic lesion on her spine which could be cancer so she will keep an eye on it. Arthritis and heart meds have many side effects but Sherry pushes through every day so that she can support herself and her daughters. Her body needs rest and healing...she needs a break. Her job is very physical and hard on her body. Standing for long periods of time, using her arms, shoulders and back muscles. (Compensating for a missing back muscle due to Mastectomy). She has suffered with extreme sluggishness, fainting and rheumatoid arthritis before the doctors got it semi-under control. She missed work with extreme swelling and pain. She was just getting all of that semi under control before this accident. As a hairstylist, doesn’t get paid unless she’s there. **

Sherry is strong yet weak, joyful yet sad and I know she will be appreciative beyond words. She loves the Lord and her family with all her heart. (And loves everyone)! She remains positive! Melody and Miranda are amazing young women. We cannot be more proud of them in all circumstances. Thank you for reading and for caring!
