Give Second Chance a second chance!

Second Chance (Fayette Resale Incorporated) is a non-profit resale shop located in La Grange, Texas,  serving all of Fayette County.  We are run by a coalition of seven local churches representing different denominations.  The majority of the work is performed by unpaid volunteers from the member churches, as well as the community at large. These churches receive no monies or in-kind donations from Second Chance for the service hours their parishioners donate.

Second Chance accepts donations of clothing, shoes, household goods, furniture, etc., in good, working, usable condition from the public, and resells items at very low prices in order to benefit the underprivileged members of our community. Profits from the sale of these items are distributed to local charities, which have applied for funding and been selected by the Second Chance Emporium's Board of Directors.  We have given out nearly $2.5 million since starting in 1996!   Also, we keep our prices very low so that the many economically disadvantaged in our community are still able to buy

At the end of August 2017, Second Chance was completely destroyed by the floodwaters of Hurricane Harvey. Its buildings, along with all its contents, were a total loss, rendering Second Chance unable to operate there as a resale store.  Second Chance has established a rebuilding fund - we will be bigger and better than ever in our new 20,000 sq ft building!   (Go to www.secondchanceemporium.org  for more information and news.)
