Help Our Sweet Boy

We got Otis approximately 2 weeks ago from someone through Craigslist. As most people know, it’s been my dream to have a pug and i finally got him. He was perfect and loving and sweet. A week later, everything changed when Otis showed symptoms of a congenial disease known as a liver shunt. Our whole world changed and we knew our world was about to get a lot darker. After multiple blood tests and a few visits to the ER, Otis was diagnosed with a liver shunt. A liver shunt creates a problem in Otis’s body because his liver is not able to filter out toxins in his blood, and results in the toxins instead going into his body and causing high levels of ammonia and causing neurological issues in his brain as a result. We are in the process of finding out if it can be fixed through surgery, but it’s going to cost a significant amount of money. After working with our breeder who agreed to help with financial costs, we are hoping we can get the surgery for Otis to give him the best life possible. We don’t want to give him up because we adore him, but we know we financially can’t do this alone. The go fund me will assist in costs for his surgery and the tests required for the diagnosis as well as any other costs associated with his care. We know it’s a huge financial cost, but any and everything donated would be so appreciated. If everyone on my Facebook alone donated $10 per person, we could make this happen for him.
