I am Patryce King, pianist based in Austin, TX. My mission is to bring classical music to audiences who ordinarily would not listen to classical music. Five years ago I started a concert series designed to bring all kinds of music to all kinds of people. The name of the series is titled Full Moon Satellite Series. Venues vary from concert halls to bars to coffee shops and collaborative artists range from New York Times bestselling authors to local singersongwriter favorites. The programs are diverse always hosted on the full moon. As years went by my series became synonomous with the Full Moon!
When daring to create boldly asking others to support by simply listening, life lessons unfold. Ask any artist, actor, choreographer, musician, songwriter, by DOING the very thing you long to be, you become just that. The doing is what allows the discoveries to happen. I want to be a more whole human for myself, for my students, for my friends and family. Performing LIVE concerts gives me a strong voice in expressing my spiritual gifts. I believe we're all given these gifts and it is a part of our calling to give it away.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you my GoFundMe campaign. The funds from this campaign will go toward my very first recording project. There will be engineers, producers, the rental of the Hall, a wind ensemble and a conductor. The University of Texas Wind Ensemble will accompany me on Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue under the direction of Jerry Junkin. Every dollar you give will go directly to this Award Winning Collegiate Ensemble and my team of professionals. As a contributor you will be supporting my dream of creating an album while at the same time providing financial support to working musicians.
All donor names will appear on the inside cover of my album and Super Donors contributing $1,200 or more will receive their very own custom designed house concert.
Kurt Vonnegut said it best, "The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake."
