Reese’s Heart Surgery

Donation protected
Reese has been diagnosed with a heart condition known as a “Vascular Ring”. This is a congenital anomaly in which the aortic arch and its branches are completely encircling and compressing her esophagus and trachea. This causes swallowing difficulties which results in choking, frequent vomiting, and long term coughing for Reese. Surgery is needed to correct this heart condition, as it can cause major health issues as she gets older.

The surgery will take place at UCSF Children's Hospital on June 19, 2018. Reese will have to stay for at least 12 days. She will be in the ICU after the surgery is completed for several days. After she is stable enough, she will be moved to a different children’s wing until she can be released.  The surgery will be very hard on Reese, Nichole, and Garrett. Little Reese will need all the love and support from her parents to help her recover.

Many of you have expressed interest in helping the family in this difficult time. For that, we are truly grateful.  All donations will go towards expenses associated with the cost of the surgery and housing while in San Francisco. This is going to be a very stressful and trying time for the family. Anything you can do to help ease their stress will be greatly appreciated. We thank all of you for your kind words, prayers, love and support. Please keep our little Reese in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
