Homeward Bound for Trooper

Donation protected
Update: Wednesday April 4th 2:00PM
I finally got to meet this little trooper. They led me back to his cage where I was greeted with a wagging tail and a small kiss on my nose. The Veterinarians and staff from Russell Vet have been wonderful to this little soul. He looks great and I can tell he will recover in time. You can see in those big beautiful golden brown eyes he’s just waiting to be loved!

Charlie and I have decided for now that we will foster him as I am currently off work due to shoulder surgery myself so I can give him 24/7 care. The Veterinarians have also decided to keep him an extra week due to how intensive his surgery was. Not only did they discount the actual surgery but they have also agreed to cover the extra week as well. So thank you Russell Vet!

We will be visiting and posting more this week thank you all again for your love and support for this little guy. He is so lucky to get this second chance, as not many pets are as lucky as he is!

Tuesday April 3rd: Yesterday this beautiful beagle was found on 957 and had been hit by a car. The person who found him took him to Russell Vet Hospital for care. He has been on fluid IVs and pain medication as one of his legs is broken and needs pinned and casted. No one has come forward to claim him and with no one coming forward the hospital does not do these procedures at their own expense. Yesterday I posted this on Facebook “If someone owns the beagle that was hit please call the Russell Vet. If it’s about the money I will personally help you find the means to help fund him/her. I spoke with the vets office and the dog is on iv meds and they think a fracture. Trust me when I say I know what it’s like to fall on hard times but there are a lot of good people who come out to help when the chips are down. I love my dog and if this is why you aren’t coming forward please don’t leave your pup scared and alone. Call them at [phone redacted] and then get a hold of me. I will help you raise the money.” and it was shared over 270 times with a lot of people offering to help with the cause. So true to my word here I am rallying for this beautiful boy! The Lakewood branch of the Russell Vet saw my post and reached out to me when they saw the wonderful response my post had received. They were graciously willing to do the whole procedure at a discounted rate for this precious guy. He will need to have surgery and a pin placed and leg casted. The cast will then have to be changed weekly and eventually the pin removed. I have already spoke with New Leash On Life and they are excited to take him in and care for him till his leg is healed, and then find him his new forever home. For all that know me you will remember this Organization is where I found my Lucy and she has been my joy and happiness from that first moment I laid eyes on her in the parking lot of Pet Smart. Anything you can do to help would be appreciated and any extra money not used will go to New Leash On Life for his living expenses. Thank you all so much. My heart was touched by how many people responded to this post!
