Hi Everyone,
To all of you who have expressed a desire to help Leah's parents, Don and Mary Hodel, this is the best way that we can organize it. Also we realize our family and friends are widespread and this is the most effective way to meet her parent's needs right now.
The past year has created a major financial burden for Don and Mary as they have coped with her health concerns. Affording her medication for hepatic encephalopathy and adjusting to her loss of income after she was no longer able to work has been a challenge. Now a tornado destroyed portions of their home and their entire neighborhood, among others in their town. Don and Mary have been given a place to live in the short term and Leah's sister, Rachel, and her family, are there to help with recovery of the house/personal items and help them transition. Our hope is to raise enough money to assist with the insurance deductible and/or provide a small cushion for loss of income as they and the entire town recovers from the destruction.
