First, to have to resort to this means to try and help your only son is not ideal. Only after numerous recommendations and the "all stops" mentality sets in that I'm writing this today. Money is hard to come by, everyone works hard for it, and to ask....was a pride thing so to speak. Now, I have no other options. On March 12th, My son Quinton sustained an anoxic brain injury after he came home from school. He was airlifted to Ruby Memorial where he he remained in a coma state for the better part of 3 weeks. Numerous stories and unreliable sources leave alot of variables as to what transpired. Multiple test, test that they can't do because of prior surgeries to fix his lil body... still the prognosis remains the same, he will remain in this state.. this is his new baseline... 3 weeks ago my son was on the school bus going home from school. He made it home, and now his life is forever changed. See, Quinton is different.. Quinton has special needs to begin with, he was born with a condition known as Central core myopathy that left him partially immobile, wheelchair-bound. he doesn't speak and he lives 24 hours on life support. But he NEVER let it stop his beautiful smile. He grew, went to school, partially signed and could communicate basic needs. I've plead for representatives for him, given his needs and rights. I've been to jail after begging for judges to review evidence. Letters to state, federal representatives. There's now the need for a life-time of medical care, and justice for the entire system that let this happen. Numerous reports went unchecked, referred back to CPS, none of which ever felt endangered Quinton. I created #GetGusHome long ago to update, and pass information. I've been bombarded with this can't stand, this can't happen... I've been doing my best to protect him for a long time, and if a good lawyer is ultimately what it takes, rest assurred each and every dime will be accounted for... It will go to a civil rights lawyer/ a personal injury lawyer/ and one that can prove to me he has what it take to see to it Quint finally gets what he deserves, and the reparations he should receive for suffering under a system for so long. Numerous times I had been given photos of the deplorable conditions, the entire county knows the story, Quint is soon to discharge in a comatose condition, to the same care that landed him there to begin with. I swore on my sons life when he lay in the Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh that I'd never give up on him. If there is a monetary value on a child's life and safety, then please send that boy an angel, cause he definitely needs one... 10k won't even touch what a lawyer wants, but maybe when he realizes how many accountable persons there really are in this case, he or she will be willing to work with me... Quinton deserves the best medical treatment for the rest of his life. And a huge bubble machine, They owe him that.
