Ride Cambodia 2014

Change a Life, Ride Cambodia 2014 is a campaign to raise money to help build a school for the Sunrise Children's Village 3 - and a 450 km cycling trek through Cambodia to meet the children for whom this money is being raised.

I couldn't be more excited or honored to be a part of this experience!

The Cause:
The Computershare Sunrise 3 Center in Sihanoukville, Cambodia opened as a home for orphaned or abandoned children with HIV. This center provides these young ones with a safe place to live, nutrition and care, and the medicines they need to live. The Sunrise Children's Village also provides education, sports programs, and art programs "“ the foundation needed to grow up and live happy, productive, and meaningful lives.

The struggles and challenges that these children face are tremendous. Cambodia has been plagued with a rough history, a corrupt government, and a high poverty rate. Parents or other family members of these children may have been killed or maimed by land-mines, died of hunger, or succumbed to disease. The children of Cambodia deserve no better no worse than any other child from anywhere else, and yet the conditions they are often born into do not grant them the opportunities to pursue a life for themselves.

But the issues of education, poverty and health are all ones that we has humans have the capacity to resolve. Its just a matter of doing something. And with some support, The Sunshine Children's Village 3 is doing that something for these kids.

And any donation you make can make quite a significant impact. Sunrise Children's villages can do a lot with even small amounts:

$55 = Food and nutrition for 1 child for an entire month.
$58 = Toiletries & hygiene products for 1 child for an entire year.
$63 = Clothing and shoes for 1 child for an entire year.

Sporting programs cost less than $50/ year / child.
Music & Art programs cost only $180 / year / child.

So as thrilled as I am for your support in this cycling journey  - your dollars (Euros, Yen, Pesos, etc.) will make a huge difference in a little someone's life who, let's face it, needs it even more than I do.

So, please, if you can give, or spread the word to others who might be able to.....THANK YOU SO MUCH!
