Jerry Christenson's Medical Fund

I am starting this page for my father, in hopes that he will  recieve many, many prayers and any donations to help with his medical expenses and bills during this tough time.  And for any of you that know my dad, you know he would give the shirt off his back for anyone, but also he is the last person to ask for help when he needs it.  My dad is my rock and my best friend! He is the most caring and loving father and grandfather anyone could ask for! Our family is truely blessed to have him and I thank God for him everyday.  We want him to be able to live a full, long life seeing his grandchildren grow up.   Last year my dad was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the Liver. They still don't know exactly what caused him to have this. He has never drank and so they believe it may be caused from medications he took over 20 years ago, but who knows. His health has slowly deteriorated over the past year. He can currently still live a pretty normal everyday life, but is unable to do alot of things he has enjoyed for years. After being diagnosed, the doctors did let him know that he would need a liver transplant. He was placed on a transplant list with one hospital and while waiting for a donor, they discovered that his kidneys are now being affected from the liver disease.  This only added more complications and risks, and now could possibly need a kidney transplant also.  Because of the recent complications and being that he is almost 70 years old, the hospital removed him form the transplant list. His local doctors have been working very hard to find another hospital that will take him in and put him back on a transplant list.  He is now headed to Jacksonville to the Mayo clinic next week. They will be running tests and evaluating him for 3 weeks. Hopefully this is the place!!  The past year has been tough on him mentally, emotionally, and financially. Although he does have insurance, they only pay so much. He is also limited to the work he can do. He is still only in the beginning of this journey to being a healthier person.  All I am wanting is for this journey to be as least stressful as it can be for him.
