Help Us Save Ace!

Donation protected

Ace is still in critical care and this little group will NOT let him down. What started out to be only $1500 scope to find the obstruction has snowballed into $7000 vet bill and Ace being in critical care with a tracheal tube so he could breath while they try to get him well... This is a small all volunteer, open admissions, no kill shelter run by a few dedicated volunteers... PLEASE.... If you can spare anything at all Hoopeston Animal Shelter could sure use it... IF YOU CANT DONATE .... PLEASE SHARE!!!
Update 8:30am Saturday, Ace did extremely well overnight, his spirits are good. The tracheal tube was changed this morning with little secretion, so that is great news. If all goes according to planned, the doctors will allow Ace to try to breath on his own tomorrow, so stay tuned for updates. Ace is a young, strong dog, and the doctors are still not sure if their original speculation of an obstruction was the cause, because this is unlike anything they have ever seen before. Please if you can help us pay the bill that would be helpful, we need to raise at least $4,000 in a few days as payment is expected at the time that Ace will be released, however Ace is not out of the woods, he remains in critical care and he still needs your support and prayers for a full recovery. Thanks
Hoopeston Animal Control & Shelter (Hoopeston Animal Rescue Team) our shelter helps so many companion animals in poor medical condition.  We are an all volunteer, open admissions, no kill shelter dedicated to the city and residents of Hoopeston, Illinois.  We also help our surrounding communities as space allows.  Our team believes that every pet matters, and in this case Ace matters, his life is in our hands. Our shelter volunteers do not believe in euthanasia. This belief is still rare for an open admissions shelter. Open admissions means we have an open door policy for our community, we do not and cannot turn away any pet entering our doors, no matter what their medical or emotional condition. These circumstances make it very challenging, we are constantly juggling space and working long hours, including every holiday and weekend. Our volunteers wear their hearts on their sleeves because we never know what the day will bring to us and yet when a homeless pet enters our shelter, we feel blessed that we have an opportunity to help them, help us save Ace.  Thank you!
