Kicking Cancer with Katie Valcich

Katie has recently been diagnosed with Leukemia. Her friends have set up this fund to raise money to help Katie's parents, Tricia and Bob, manage all of the unexpected expenses that will be accruing as Katie fights her battle. This includes any medical expenses not covered by insurance, travel, lodging, meals...anything they need to keep the rest of life on track.

She has a rare form of Leukemia called APL, Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia, which has a 90 - 100% cure rate. She will be at Mass General getting treatment for the next 4-6 weeks. After that, she will continue to be treated as an out-patient. Katie is being extremely positive and optimistic and is ready to fight this thing with everything she’s got. She could use all the prayers and positive energy sent her way, so every bit helps.

This is a way for us to all help now. As someone who has been on the receiving end of this kind of support, I can tell you that the feeling of love and support that comes from this kind of donation will warm the hearts of the Valcich family and it gives us all a way to help out when we don't know what else to do.
