Outreach For Ollie

Our sweet four-year old Border Collie/Catahoula mix, Ollie, escaped our back yard after the kids thought they latched it correctly. After searching for him for hours, we came home to find him on our front porch. Ollie had been hit by a car, and still managed to find his way home. Ollie's femur was snapped in two and we were concerned about damage to his internal organs because of a significant amount of blood in his urine. We were given a couple of surgical options that had to be acted on quickly in order to stabilize Ollie. Ollie's leg was amputated and he spent several long days in the hospital. Luckily, we determined the blood in his urine was from damage and bruising of his bladder wall--something that should heal completely. Ollie came home last night with a drain in his wound so that his internal bleeding doesn't cause problems and infection. We expect him to make a full recovery as a happy tripod puppy. We have had friends and family ask how they can help support our family with this unexpected medical emergency and resultant financial hardship. We're setting up this GoFundMe as a fundraiser to assist with Ollie's medical bills and expenses. Thanks for all the love and support we've already received during this trying time.
