Ryan’s Recovery from a Heart Attack

Donation protected
I’m Troy, Ryan’s older brother by two years, and the guy he’s worked with for 17 of the last 19 years.

Apparently heart disease runs in our family. Both of our grandfathers and one of our grandmothers died of heart attacks or congestive heart failure. Our dad had a heart attack at 67, which resulted in a quadruple bypass!

On Saturday, March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day), Ryan suffered a heart attack while at a hardware store with his wife. Luckily he was seen quickly by a medical team in Warner Robins and within 24 hrs had a stent placed in his “widow maker” artery, which was 90% blocked. He had to bail on his Crossfit team which was competing in a multi-week competition.

For a husband and father (4 kids), a breadwinner, a self employed business man, a newly developing athlete, and an all around great guy....a heart attack at FORTY-FIVE is not only unexpected...it’s devastating.

Besides being ordered by doctors to not work for 2 weeks, until two more stents can be placed, the psychological impact of knowing your heart could be a ticking time bomb has got to only cause more stress.

After Ryan receives his other two stents, he will be restricted as to what he can do and when, thus placing a larger strain on his ability to run his business and support his family that still count on him financially.

Having been self employed for nearly 20 years, I know the stress of not having work for a week or month, or having several bad months, and the cost of a decent insurance policy, the deductibles that accompany said policy, and the fear of not being able to meet the simplest of obligations.

Because Ryan is so young, has so much to offer, has people (family and customers) counting on him, but could never be expected to expect a heart attack at 45, I hope I can use GoFundMe to rally friends, family, customers, athletes, self-employed folks, church friends, or anyone that can empathize with his and his family’s situation, to donate $5, $10, or as much as they feel they can spare.

Every “share” is appreciated and every little donation helps!
