Jessica's Medical Bills (Psalm 28:7)

Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my Strength and my impenetrable Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him.
Jessica is having hip surgery on November 29th. This will be her 4th surgery in 2 years and it is taking a financial toll on our family. With medical bills piling up and missed income to care for her we are asking for prayers and any financial support you might be willing to give. Jessica has been through more in the past several years than an adult experiences in a lifetime and this is her story.
In 2005 she contracted a strand of E-Coli which wreaked havoc on her body. She spent a month at Children's Hospital with 2 weeks in ICU. As her kidney's failed and her heart raced to dangerous levels, the team of doctors and nurses could only offer supportive care. She spent weeks on dialysis and had 7 blood transfusions, but 1 month later she walked out of the hospital a healthy little girl again with full kidney function. Praise God!

Unfortunately her battle with her body wasn't over yet. A few years later she began to walk with a limp and was complaining that her hip hurt a lot. After taking her to the doctor and getting x-rays, we received a phone call from the doctor saying "pack your bags and go to the hospital because Jessica will be having surgery tonight". She developed something called SCFE (slipped capital femoral epiphysis). Basically her hip bone was trying to slide out of socket from an underdeveloped growth plate. She underwent surgery that next morning to have a screw put in each hip in order to prevent them from slipping any more. After a couple months of recovery she was good as new and doing well.
In the mean time she had been experiencing severe abdominal pain in which the doctor's couldn't figure out why. They soon discovered, after testing, that her gall bladder was bad and needed to be removed. They had also noticed her blood work was indicating NAFLD (nonalcoholic fatty liver disease) and diabetes, so she went through a second surgery to have her gall bladder removed and her liver biopsied. Sure enough the biopsy confirmed NAFLD and more testing confirmed Type 2 Diabetes. Upon hearing the news I nearly had a nervous breakdown in the car ride home. But I heard the sweetest words come from Jessica that I have never been able to forget. She said, "Listen Mom, God doesn't let anything happen to us that He doesn't have control over, so I can't wait to see how He uses this". There were words of wisdom streaming from the mouth of my child that full grown adults have a hard time grasping a hold of. I knew from that moment on God was using Jessica's battle with her health and body to refine and strengthen her. The results have been magnificent as I have watched her encourage and love others with a compassion and understanding that only comes from God
Her battle with her hip raged on as she began having intense hip pain again about a year ago. After many doctor appointments and trying all conservative treatments it was time to get an MRI to find out what was going on. In order to get that MRI Jessica had to undergo a 3rd surgery to have the hardware removed from her hip which took place in August of this year. The MRI results showed that the head of her femur was deformed causing it to rub inside the socket resulting in a torn labrum. The surgery she will be undergoing on November 29th will be to reshape the femoral head and repair the labrum in her right hip. This is going to be one of the biggest surgeries she has had yet, with a long recovery time and yet again, after hearing the bad news of surgery, she holds her head up high and says "we got this". I picked Psalm 28:7 as our scripture to focus on through this rough season ahead because it reminds me of her. She shows me daily that the Lord is her strength, she trusts him, and she is constantly singing songs of praise to him.
